During pupillage, Natalie assisted on a number of aviation cases including claims arising out of helicopter and light aircraft crashes. She has recently been instructed by a major airline in a number of disputes concerning the application of the Montreal Convention and EC Regulation 261/2004.
Natalie regularly appears on behalf of the major banks in the High Court and County Courts in a range of banking matters including disputes relating to loan agreements, mortgages, guarantees, breach of mandate and consumer credit. She undertakes advisory and drafting work in this core area of Chambers’ practice.
Natalie is frequently instructed in a range of shipping matters arising out of charterparties, contracts of affreightment, bills of lading and the like. Recent work includes withdrawal, off-hire, demurrage, unsafe port and speed and performance disputes.
Natalie is currently instructed by cargo interests in a number of claims arising out of loss and damage to goods carried by sea. She is also acting on behalf of cargo interests in a dangerous goods case.
Natalie is gaining experience in domestic and international carriage by road disputes. She is frequently instructed to advise and draft pleadings in CMR cases.
During pupillage, Natalie assisted on a number of shipbuilding matters and has been involved in several energy disputes including litigation arising out of a gasoline supply contract and the marketing of offshore drilling services. She is currently instructed as junior counsel in an arbitration arising out of the delayed delivery of a bespoke yacht under a shipbuilding contract.
Natalie is regularly instructed in a range of commercial disputes in both court and arbitration. During pupillage, Natalie assisted on a variety of general commercial matters including litigation arising out of the failure of a joint venture for the creation of a media and entertainment company and a dispute relating to the cancellation of a port agency agreement, requiring applications for anti-suit and freezing injunctions.
Natalie is currently instructed in a number of LMAA arbitrations arising out of a range of charterparty disputes. She has also recently assisted in a GAFTA appeal concerning issues arising out of a series of FOB contracts. During pupillage Natalie was involved in a number of arbitrations, including a claim relating to the collapse of a vessel's onboard crane and a contract of affreightment dispute.
Natalie is regularly instructed in a range of insurance disputes, both marine and non-marine. She has recently advised on the insurance issues arising out of piracy attacks off the coast of Somalia and has assisted in relation to a claim under open cover insurance.
Natalie assisted on a number of salvage hearings during her pupillage. She has recently been advising on general average issues relating to the capture of vessels by Somali pirates.
