Brandon Malone

Practice Overview

Brandon Malone has over 25 years’ experience in commercial dispute resolution as arbitrator and counsel.  He is a solicitor advocate in Scotland and a solicitor of the Senior Courts in England and Wales.

His areas of specialisation include construction, engineering, infrastructure, and energy, including oil and gas and renewables, and international trade law.

Brandon is a panel arbitrator with various international arbitration institutions including AAA/ICDR, CIETAC, AIAC, and BCDR-AAA.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and a member of the ICC UK Arbitration and ADR Committee. He is an Honorary Lecturer at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy at the University of Dundee and is an External Examiner in arbitration law and practice at Robert Gordon University.

Brandon was the architect of the Scottish Arbitration Centre and has served as its Chairman since its inception in 2011.  He is a Co-Director of the International Centre for Energy Arbitration.

Brandon chairs the ICCA/NYC Bar/CPR Working Group on Cybersecurity in International Arbitration, and is the Congress Chair for the XXVth ICCA Congress to be held in Edinburgh in May 2020.
