Quadrant Chambers Banking Review Champagne Reception

Time: 6:00pm
Venue: The Old Library, Quadrant House, 10 Fleet Street, London EC4Y 1AU

OVERVIEW

On 13th February 2020 we will be hosting a champagne reception followed by a review of the significant legal developments for banking practitioners over the previous 12 months.

This represents an ideal opportunity for those who practice in this area to be reminded of the key cases of the previous year and hear the views of three most senior practitioners on recent developments in the law.

The panel will also seek to identify any legal trends in the law and ask whether it has been overall a good or bad year for the sector.

Major cases that will be considered include: N v RBS [2019] EWHC 1770 (Comm); Singularis v Daiwa Capital [2019] 3 WLR 997; Federal Republic of Nigeria v JP Morgan Chase Bank [2019] EWCA Civ 1641; and Marme Inversiones 2007 SL v NatWest Markets plc [2019] EWHC 366 (Comm).  The panel will also look forward to 2020 and ask what the future holds, including the impact of the UK's departure from the EU on 31st January 2020.
