You may have missed it but on 1st April 2020 the Supreme Court handed down two judgments clarifying the law on vicarious liability. In Barclays v Various Claimants [2020] UKSC 13 and Morrisons v Various Claimants [2020] UKSC 12 the Supreme Court dealt with the familiar problem of the circumstances in which an employer can be liable for the actions of a rogue employee/contractor. The Quadcast team explained the two decisions and debated whether the law has finally settled in this field.
