Quadrant Chambers pleased to support the COMBAR Social Mobility mentoring scheme

OVERVIEW

Quadrant Chambers is pleased to be part of the COMBAR Mentoring Scheme for Under-Represented Groups.

Launched in 2022, the scheme encourages students that come from under-represented groups to pursue a career as a barrister, pairing successful eligible candidates with practitioners from COMBAR member sets for a series of one-to-one mentoring sessions.

At Quadrant Chambers, we take as our starting point that there is a lot of work to do to promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in our Chambers, the Commercial and Chancery Bars, and the Bar more generally. As a Chambers, we are committed to doing as much of that work as we can, both inwardly and externally, and we look forward to working with COMBAR and mentees to create more diversity at the Commercial Bar.

Applicants will be assessed by their need for mentoring and their potential to pursue a career at the Bar, with equal weighting given to both to ensure that the scheme reaches talented applicants from the most under-represented groups who would especially benefit from mentoring and guidance.

Those wishing to participate in the scheme are requested to download and complete the application form which can be found here. Completed application forms must be saved as a PDF with the naming convention “First Name – Surname” and emailed to socialmobility@combar.com by Friday 20 September 2024.

Full details of the scheme can be found here. Any other questions should be directed to the following email address: socialmobility@combar.com
