Ben has a growing practice as an arbitrator in shipping, commodities and insurance disputes, complementing his practice as a leading junior in those fields. He has received more than 100 appointments since 2021, as sole arbitrator, as a party appointee and as third arbitrator. He has acted as arbitrator or counsel in proceedings under the rules of a number of different international organisations including the LMAA, the LCIA, the ICC, the PCA and the SIAC.

Ben is a member of the Baltic Exchange, and has hands-on commercial experience as a director of an international trading business alongside his practice at the bar. He is a supporting member of the LMAA, on the SCMA Panel of Arbitrators and the SIAC List of Rising Arbitrators. He is happy to accept appointments on the LMAA Small Claims and Intermediate Claims procedures, and their equivalents under other institutional rules.
