Prof. Brandon Malone
Arbitrator
Brandon Malone has over 30 years’ experience in commercial dispute resolution as arbitrator and counsel. He is a barrister (Inner Temple) and a Scottish Advocate. He also has rights of audience before the DIFC Courts, Dubai, UAE. Brandon is also a Visiting Professor of Arbitration Law at Strathclyde Law School, the University of Strathclyde.
His areas of specialisation include construction, engineering, infrastructure, and energy, including oil and gas and renewables, blockchain and cryptocurrencies, and international trade law.
Brandon is a panel arbitrator with various international arbitration institutions including AAA/ICDR, New York, SIAC, Singapore, DIAC, Dubai, CIETAC, Beijing, HKIAC, Hong Kong, SCCA, Ridyadh, RSPP, Moscow, QICCA, Doha, arbitrateAD, Abu Dhabi, and KCAB, Seoul.
Brandon is a highly experienced construction adjudicator, and is a member of the panels of TECBAR, TeCSA, RICS, CIArb, CIC, and UK Adjudicators. He is also a FIDIC Certified Adjudicator, and a member of the FIDIC President’s List of Accredited Dispute Resolvers.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and a member of the ICC UK Committee on Arbitration and ADR. He is an Honorary Lecturer at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP) at the University of Dundee, a visiting lecturer at the University of Strathclyde and a Teaching Fellow at the University of Aberdeen.
Brandon was the architect of the Scottish Arbitration Centre and served as its Chairman from its inception in 2011 until 2022. He is a Co-Director of the International Centre for Energy Arbitration.
Brandon chairs the ICCA/NYC Bar/CPR Working Group on Cybersecurity in International Arbitration, and was the Congress Chair for the hugely successful XXVth ICCA Congress held in Edinburgh in September 2022.
