Quadrant Chambers congratulates Sir Nigel Teare on his appointment as an International Judge to the Supreme Court of Singapore. He will serve on the Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC) Bench. The SICC is a division of the General Division of the Singapore High Court and part of the Supreme Court of Singapore.

His appointment commences on 5 January 2026 for one year, Sir Nigel will continue to accept appointments as an arbitrator.
 

Sir Nigel Teare sat as a judge of the Queen’s Bench Division from 2006 until his retirement from the High Court bench on 30 September 2020. In 2011, he was nominated the Admiralty judge. He was appointed judge in charge of the Commercial Court from October 2017 until 2020. He decided many of the most high-profile cases across many different business sectors.
