The majority of Michael’s practice is in the field of international arbitration both as barrister and as arbitrator. He has accepted appointments as sole arbitrator and as a member of a panel of 3 (including as presiding arbitrator) under the terms of the LCIA, the LMAA, UNCITRAL and the Permanent Court of Arbitration in the Hague. The subject matters of his appointments have included disputes as to the supply of metal for the construction of planes, the construction of a super-yacht, a long term oil supply contract between a major commodities house and a state oil company, other commodities contracts and charterparties. He is a member of the SCMA, a supporting member of the LMAA and on the panel of the Shanghai International Arbitration Centre.
