Nigel is an experienced arbitrator. He has sat as a sole arbitrator or as a member of panel on an ad hoc basis, pursuant to various institutions, including LMAA terms and LCIA rules. He is a panel member for the AIAC and on the LCIA List of Arbitrators. He is a supporting member of the LMAA, a member of GMAA. He is also a member of ICCA and IPBA. 

Nigel accepts appointments as an arbitrator in all his areas of practice. Recent examples include:

• Party nominated arbitrator under LCIA rules for dispute under a well services contract.
• Sole arbitrator in relation to disputes under long-term charterparty for carriage of LNG – initial dispute settled but asked to reserve jurisdiction for future disputes.
• Party nominated arbitrator under a long-term agency contract with issues of Algerian law. Responsible for drafting the awards on liability and costs.
