Mini-pupillages

As a Chambers, we are committed to offering mini-pupillages which we believe give a wide range of aspiring barristers a better understanding of life at the commercial bar than might otherwise be available. 

Why we offer mini-pupillages

We feel that mini-pupillages are the best way of allowing prospective pupils to learn more about Quadrant Chambers and life at the Commercial Bar.  Mini pupils will experience the life of a busy practitioner and spend time reading papers, carrying out legal research and discussing cases with barristers.  Additionally, time may be spent attending court and arbitrations and sitting in on client conferences.  Mini-pupillages are not compulsory for those wishing to apply to Quadrant for pupillage, but are strongly encouraged. 

What we expect from mini-pupils

Mini-pupillage applicants should be expecting to make an application for pupillage at Quadrant in the next application cycle. We seek applications from those who are interested in and are realistic candidates for pupillage at Quadrant, according to our criteria for pupillage as set out on the Pupillage page.

You need to have or be predicted at least a high upper second class degree to apply for mini-pupillage. We prefer mini-pupillage applicants to be at least in the second year of a law degree or to have started the law conversion course.

When we offer mini-pupillages

We offer 2 day mini-pupillages to take place during the following weeks. Please note the applicable deadline for your application. Watch this space! please do keep an eye on this page as we will be re-vamping our mini-pupillage over coming months. For now.... 

• Weeks commencing 7 and 14 December 2026 (Deadline for applications 21 October 2026).
• Weeks commencing 1 and 8 March 2027 (Deadline for applications 21 December 2026)
• Weeks commencing 5 and 12 July 2027 (Deadline for applications 28 April 2027)
• Weeks commencing 6 and 13 September 2027 (Deadline for applications 30 June 2027)

To increase fair access to mini-pupillage, we pay reasonable travel expenses for any in-person mini-pupillages which take place.
